The Opportunity

Next Play is expanding its sponsorship business across schools, events, colleges, and the Next Play Network. The Sponsorship Sales Executive is responsible for developing and closing sponsorship relationships with businesses that want authentic, high-visibility association with sports coverage.

This is a self-directed commercial role. You control your pipeline, your prospecting approach, and your earnings ceiling. Next Play provides the inventory, the creative product, the pricing framework, and final approval on agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and identify qualified sponsors across local, regional, and national markets.
  • Develop business relationships with decision-makers at prospective sponsor organizations.
  • Conduct sponsorship presentations using approved Next Play materials.
  • Build and manage a consistent, documented pipeline.

School Partnerships School Partnership Executive Remote — United States 1099 Independent Contractor Commission-Based / Uncapped View Opportunity

Develop relationships with athletic directors and school administrators and acquire new school partnerships. Bring college-level athletic media operations to high school programs that have never had them.

The Opportunity

Most high school athletic programs have no dedicated media infrastructure. Next Play changes that. The School Partnership Executive is responsible for introducing athletic directors, administrators, and coaches to what a professional athletic media department looks like — and converting that interest into signed school partnerships.

This role sits at the center of Next Play's core business. You will work directly with schools, districts, and athletic departments to establish long-term partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect high school athletic departments, districts, and private/independent schools.
  • Build trusted relationships with athletic directors, administrators, and coaches.
  • Conduct discovery conversations and deliver approved Next Play presentations.
  • Manage a documented pipeline from first contact through signed agreement.
  • Coordinate seasonal and budget-cycle timing common in school athletics.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Support smooth handoff to the Next Play onboarding team after signing.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in education, athletics, coaching, athletic administration, or K-12 sales is a strong advantage.
  • Existing relationships with athletic directors, coaches, or school administrators preferred.
  • Consultative seller who is comfortable with longer, relationship-driven sales cycles.
  • Understands school budget cycles, approval processes, and decision-making structures.
  • Self-directed and organized.

Compensation

  • 15% commission on eligible self-sourced new school revenue collected by Next Play.
  • 12% commission on eligible supplied opportunities.
  • 5% on eligible renewals actively managed and closed.

This is an independent contractor opportunity and does not include guaranteed salary or guaranteed earnings. Compensation is based on eligible revenue actually collected by Next Play and is governed by the applicable written contractor agreement.

Business Development Territory Partnership Director Remote — Assigned Territory, United States 1099 Independent Contractor Commission-Based / Territory Opportunity View Opportunity

Own Next Play's business development within an assigned geographic territory across schools, sponsors, events, and colleges. A broader, ownership-minded role for someone who wants to build a market.

The Opportunity

The Territory Partnership Director is responsible for developing Next Play's business and relationships across an entire assigned geographic market — not a single product line. You will pursue schools, sponsors, events, and college opportunities within your territory and become the recognizable face of Next Play in that region.

This role is designed for someone who thinks like an owner and wants to build a market rather than work a list.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory plan across all approved Next Play divisions.
  • Build relationships with schools, athletic organizations, sponsors, events, and colleges in the territory.
  • Represent Next Play at relevant local and regional events, conferences, and athletic association gatherings.
  • Manage a multi-line pipeline and report on territory performance.
  • Coordinate with Next Play leadership on pricing, custom offers, and larger opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records across all territory activity.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Track record in territory sales, regional business development, or market building.
  • Deep existing network within a defined geographic sports market.
  • Comfortable operating across multiple product lines and buyer types.
  • Entrepreneurial, highly self-directed, and accountable to outcomes.

Compensation

  • 15% of eligible direct revenue collected by Next Play from the contractor's activity.
  • Possible future territory-based compensation or override under separately approved written terms.

This is an independent contractor opportunity and does not include guaranteed salary or guaranteed earnings. Compensation is based on eligible revenue actually collected by Next Play and is governed by the applicable written contractor agreement.

Apply for this position Takes about 6–8 minutes. Have your résumé ready.

This is a strong fit for someone who is excellent at outreach and wants compensation tied to activity as well as outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Research and build target lists of qualified prospective sponsors.
  • Execute consistent outbound outreach by phone, email, and social channels.

Develop strategic relationships with associations, athletic organizations, events, facilities, media outlets, and technology providers that can create scaled distribution for Next Play.

The Opportunity

Strategic partnerships create leverage. Instead of selling one school or one sponsor at a time, this role builds relationships with organizations that can introduce Next Play to many at once — state associations, league offices, event operators, facilities, media outlets, and sports technology providers.

This is a relationship-driven, long-horizon role for someone who understands how to structure mutually beneficial partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue high-leverage partnership targets across the sports industry.
  • Develop relationships with associations, leagues, event operators, facilities, media, and technology providers.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in partnerships, business development, or sports industry relationship management.
  • Existing network across athletic associations, event operators, or sports organizations.
  • Strategic thinker who can identify and articulate mutual value.
  • Patient with longer cycles and comfortable without immediate transactional wins.

Compensation

  • 10% of eligible collected revenue directly attributable to partnerships originated by the contractor during the applicable first-year attribution period.

This is an independent contractor opportunity and does not include guaranteed salary or guaranteed earnings. Compensation is based on eligible revenue actually collected by Next Play and is governed by the applicable written contractor agreement.

  • No prior sales experience required.

Compensation

  • 10% of eligible first-year collected revenue directly attributable to approved ambassador referrals.

Acquire sporting events, tournaments, showcases, camps, and championships as Next Play coverage clients. High-velocity, seasonal, event-driven selling.

The Opportunity

Event sales moves faster than school or sponsorship sales, with shorter cycles tied to event calendars.

Responsibilities
